India has taken several measures to combat the spread and effect of COVID 19 pandemic by declaring relief measures, enhancing health facilities and lockdown. Despite these measures, the number of infected have continued to increase. Migrant labours have lost their livelihood and forced to return to their villages. Poor HHs who are mainly dependent on agriculture labour work and migration to nearby urban area is affected badly and are now dependent on government supply for food and other support. People are concerned and in distress about their future. Basic safety measures with livelihoods are the priority of the government now. The State governments have initiated several measures to tackle the current situation and announced series of packages for the rural poor who are likely to be affected by the current lockdown and period thereafter. To assist the government and the local administration and to accelerate the service delivery and ensure personal safety measures of the migrant households. On this context Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti was engaged under the ICRG Extended Phase for 3 months in 3 blocks of Bastar District in Chhattisgarh State. The program duration was 5th of May 2020 to 4th August 2020.
