Who we are..

Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti is a non-governmental organization, registered under The Societies Registration Act (1860). It is currently functioning at 15 districts of Chhattisgarh, wherein it is working with more than 75000 families in over 700 villages. CG Agricon’s chief endeavour is to provide subsistence-based support to the poor and marginalized class of people by ensuring them agriculture-based livelihoods. Approximately three-fourths of the families who are associated with Agricon belong to the Scheduled Tribes backgrounds. CG Agricon is under the course of extending its presence and activities to even remote areas of tribal districts. Agricon consists of a group of professionals from varied streams including agriculture, engineering, education, management etc. who are determined to materialize their vision to bring that change in the Society which CG Agricon has envisaged. It is progressively working as a catalyst to broaden-up the scope and pace of developmental strategies and be an impetus for the welfare activities for the society. Formerly, Agricon’s Pursuit was to develop and generate income-oriented opportunities at the village level through integration of natural resources. Grassroots action on a collective basis to promote and strengthen livelihoods for the rural masses to yield change at the rural, local, and further at regional level is what Agricon’s primary target focuses on. Among all places it works, the issue of women-welfare has been the pivot of its project interventions. But with the change achieved and perception of development in the last decade, Agricon has reshaped its Vision and the Mission. At the present Agricon is working towards the wellbeing of people in view of HDI as its benchmark parameter.
