Train Volunteers in Psychological First Aid

Introduction

In the heart of rural India, the regions of Bastar, Bilaspur, Kondagaon, and Bijapur are home to communities that have long been marginalized and underserved. The challenges they face are numerous, but none are as invisible, yet as devastating, as the mental health crises that affect so many. The scars of conflict, poverty, and neglect have left deep emotional wounds, with little to no access to professional mental health care.

In these communities, psychological first aid can be the difference between despair and hope. It can be the hand that reaches out in the darkest moments, offering comfort, understanding, and a way forward. But there’s a critical shortage of trained individuals who can provide this essential support.

The Challenge

Imagine a person in a rural village grappling with the trauma of loss, violence, or chronic stress, with no one to turn to for help. In these regions, where mental health services are scarce or non-existent, the consequences of untreated psychological issues can be catastrophic leading to a cycle of suffering that affects not just individuals, but entire families and communities.

Our Mission

To break this cycle, we are launching a transformative initiative: training 100 dedicated volunteers in peer-to-peer support and psychological first aid. These volunteers will become pillars of strength in their communities, equipped with the knowledge and skills to offer immediate psychological assistance, listen empathetically, and guide those in distress toward the help they need.

Each volunteer will receive comprehensive training, covering everything from basic psychological principles to practical techniques in crisis intervention. The cost to train each volunteer is ₹12,000, covering everything from resource person fees to accommodation, travel, and essential training materials.

Impact of Your Support

By contributing to this initiative, you’re not just funding a training program; you’re building a network of community-based mental health first responders who can bring hope and healing to those who need it most.

Your donation will:

  • Empower 100 volunteers: Equip them with the skills to provide psychological first aid and peer support.
  • Enhance mental health awareness: Spread critical knowledge and awareness in rural and underserved areas.
  • Create a sustainable support system: Establish a lasting framework for mental health care at the grassroots level.

We need to raise ₹12,00,000 to make this vision a reality. This is where you come in. Your donation, no matter the size, will play a crucial role in building a mental health support system that will impact thousands of lives.

  • Donate ₹12,000: Cover the full cost of training one volunteer.
  • Donate ₹2,000: Contribute towards the overall training costs, making a real difference with every rupee.

As a thank you for your generosity, all donations are eligible for tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. This means you not only support a noble cause but also enjoy financial savings.

Donate Now and Make a Difference! Every donation brings us one step closer to creating a safer, more supportive community for everyone.
